The responsibility of the quality assurance division is to ensure that the quality of the maintenance done on the aircraft is in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM manuals and bulletins and company policies and procedures. Quality Assurance also includes the management of the technical records system and training for all maintenance personnel.
As of January, 2008 we changed our quality assurance program to include a new safety management system (SMS). VIH Cougar Helicopters has operated using a form of SMS for since our inception; however, this new system will enhance in our safety record and assure FAA compliance.
Software
QA is supported by the IT department, has developed a unique personnel training database - the maintenance management system (MMS) - which tracks all historical and future training requirements for the entire maintenance staff.
We have developed a database within the safety management system (SMS) to record and track all audits and corrective action data all audit processes; both internal and external.
Safety
In the quality assurance system, our goal is to be proactive to prevent any incidents from happening. We work together with the safety management system (SMS) to achieving that goal.
VIH Cougar Helicopters' QA auditing program augments our overall commitment to safety by ensuring that problems are identified quickly and rectified immediately. We are continually expanding and improving our internal auditing program which encompasses all our operations.
